Frank Lampard was born in Romford, Essex on the 20th of June 1978. He came from a very football orientated family, with his father, uncle and cousins all heavily involved within the game.He was at West Ham for a year before he made the difficult decision to go out on loan to Swansea in 1995. Frank Lampard was a very family orientated man, however, he was determined to improve himself as a footballer and that’s what this move did for him. Although the training facilities at Swansea were of a considerably lower standard, Frank built up his strength and came back to UptonPark ready to fight for a first team place. It wasn’t until the 1998-99 season where he finally established himself as a regular first team player for West Ham. Frank Lampard appeared in every match that season for West Ham and he significantly helped his team push for a fifth place finish in the league. This though, attracted many of the key West Ham players to bigger clubs, Rio Ferdinand was first to leave Upton Park in 2000-01 from West Ham’s promising batch of youngsters. This, along with the fact that his uncle and father had quit their jobs as manager and assistant respectively meant a transfer to Chelsea Football Club in 2001 for a reported fee of £11 million pounds.

Fernando Torres Biography And Images
Background and Youth
Fernando Torres was born March 20th 1984 in Madrid, Spain. He has an older brother Israel and an older sister Mari Paz by parents Flori and Jose. Torres first came into contact with a football at the tender age of two, playing in the house with his brother. At just 5 years old El Nino joined his first football team Parque 84. Fernando started his playing career as a goalkeeper which lasted until he had his front teeth knocked out, although by his own admission it was a good save. Losing his teeth was probably the best thing that could have happened as he sought refuge in an attacking role. At the age of seven Torres played for his second team Mario’s Holland for three years in an indoor league. And by the age of ten Torres was playing 11-a-side football for Rayo 13 which is where he got his big break. After finishing the season with a 55 goal haul the three best players were given the opportunity to have a trial with Atletico Madrid. Fernando Torres was given the chance to represent Atletico at the youngest age they allowed.Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland gave Spain's under achieving stars the chance to shine. Spain breezed through the group stages winning all three matches against Russia, Sweden and Greece. Torres got off the mark with his first goal in a 2-1 win over Sweden. Spain's next hurdle was World Champions Italy in the Quarter Finals which after a goalless 90 minutes and extra time was decided on penalties. Spain banished former memories of penalty defeat to beat the Italians 4-2. Russia was next up in the Semi's and belief amongst the players and fans was sky high as Spain walked into the finals beating Russia 3-0 with goals from Xavi, Guiza and Silva
